Can you see two people sitting there reading code to each other? Of course! The decimal punched cards are converted into binary, with 24 instructions per card. I don't ever remember doing it two different ways. Imagine a card full of holes and you find that one hole (for a 1) should not have been punched. A quick way to correct this was to take a very small piece of scotch tape and cover the hole, making it into a zero. SWAC personnel frowned on this because the card reader might jam from the sticky tape. I love the word 'brainwash' here. But, if you did not clear the memory, you might end up with the previous user's data scattered among your data.
