The 1996 trip to Ecuador was first planned using email and the
internet. The narrative of our 1998 Taiwan trip was the
first to include a photograph (one picture, but worth the
effort) as the technology to convert printed pictures to
digital format was becoming accessible. By 2001 and our
trip to Antarctica, we mastered the technique and that
narrative has many pictures to supplement the story
line. The 2006 trip to the Arctic was the first time
that we used a digital camera so the number of pictures in our
narrative increased dramatically.
